Day 149 Doing It

(david m. bailey)
April 23, 2009
david m. bailey
Well you don’t know what you can do until you do it
Until you see it you won’t know what you can face
It’s hard to Imagine going through it
But when you’re in it you will somehow find your place

Ask anyone who’s made it through an illness
Or a hurricane, addiction or divorce
It’s hard to explain how they overcome the pain
Surviving just becomes a matter of course

So if you don’t think you could do what I am doing
I’d say I don’t think I could do what you have done
If our places were reversed - and God forbid we’d be so cursed
we’d both find a race we could learn to run

Cuz you don’t know what you can do until you do it
Until you see it you won’t know what you can face
It’s hard to Imagine going through it
But when you’re in it you will somehow find your place

In this world there is simply too much sorrow
It’s amazing that anyone endures
There’s always hope for a better tomorrow
I guess hope is how we believe in cures
Until then I will draw my inspiration
From the stories of those I’ve never met
Let this song be a dedication
To the heroes who have not shown their faces – yet.
