Nervous

(david m. bailey)
david m. bailey
Sometimes I get a little nervous
Worshipping the good Lord inside
I guess I wonder if it looks like
We’re just trying to hide

I mean, Adam and Eve had no cathedral
A garden sanctuary was enough
No paintings, no stained glass, no pulpit no pews
Yeah, everything was in the rough

Sometimes I get a little nervous
Asking the Lord to bless my cause
I guess I wonder if it looks like
I’m just trying to get around his laws

I mean, I can ask for peace with justice
But I know the other side can too
I know it’s a good thing that I’m not God
I’d have no idea what to do

Sometimes I get a little nervous
Asking for His will to be done
Truth is I’m not sure I care about His will
Unless, of course, it looks a lot like mine

Now, Jesus must have been a little nervous
In the garden down upon his knees
He put it all in the hands of His father
If that was good enough for Him tyhan it’s good enough for me
